Free Range Eggs – Better Taste & Nutrition
Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods on earth and can be part of a healthy diet. Our pastured laying hens provide truly free range brown eggs with deep golden yolks and farm fresh taste! All our free range chickens graze fresh grass daily where they enjoy fresh air, clean water and foraging for greens and insects. Free range eggs are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, beta carotene, and vitamin E with about half the cholesterol of factory-raised eggs. Our hens are not de-beaked and we don't use growth hormones1, antibiotics, or chemicals of any kind. We think you'll agree that these are the best free range eggs you've ever eaten - you owe it to yourself to try a real egg.
We don’t wash our eggs. When the hen lays her egg, they are naturally covered with a protective coating called bloom. This coating helps keep bacteria and contaminates from penetrating through the shell and getting into the egg and helps keep the egg fresh longer. At times, we do “dry wash” and “spot wash” the eggs – using sandpaper to scuff any dirt from the shell. Our eggs will last at least 2 months. Keep in mind, the eggs you buy at the store are washed and refrigerated. On average, store eggs are 14 – 30 days old, leaving you 3 – 5 weeks before they are too old.
Our chickens are free-range, and in comparison to factory raised – ours don't eat "exactly the same feed" as factory-raised hens. Free range chickens consume large amounts of grass, clover, weeds and insects in addition to grain. It is precisely this natural and diverse diet that produces a more nutrient rich free range egg.
Free range eggs contain about half as much cholesterol, are twice as rich in Vitamin E, up to six times richer in beta carotene and a whopping four times higher in essential omega-3 fatty acids! Taste the difference for yourself! |
